Telecourses
Telecourses
are instructional programs in which students watch televised
programs in addition to reading textbooks and completing
assignments. Quizzes and other assignments are returned
to the faculty to be graded. An orientation to the telecourse
may or may not be required. Additional on-campus meetings
may be required, depending upon the instructor.
Video Courses
Video courses
are essentially the same as telecourses except that instructional
programs are available on videotape rather than on television.
Internet
(Online, Web-based) Courses
Internet courses
use e-mail to communicate with the instructor and other
students. Student's familiarity with e-mail and the world
wide web is assumed.
Teleweb
Courses
Teleweb courses
add Internet activities such as e-mail, group discussions,
online quizzes and Internet assignments to the video programming
of video/telecourses. Students need access to the Internet
and experience with e-mail and the World Wide Web.
Interactive
Video Classes
Interactive
video classes meet on campus or at other designated locations.
Instruction is given by faculty in specially equipped
classrooms that allow video and audio interaction among
students and the instructor at two or more locations.
